I am 27 and have lupus, the joint kind. I have no insurance. Can someone please help? apply for medicaide if you are able to work.. look online for reasonable rated insurances FORTIS is a decent self paying insurance Are there no free NHS hospitals in your area? Lupus is reasonably uncommon, and it is best to see a doctor who specializes in rheumatology and/or immunology. Many medical centers have financial counselors. Are you eligible for Medicaid? Don't put this off. Have you tried explaining your situation to your Dr.? You could make monthly payments on your bill(s) and as long as you're making an effort to pay and they understand that, many Physicians will go along with that. The same with hospitals. Check in the areas (State) where you live, they may have some type of resource for you to take advantage of. In my state there is a program for people with surgical bills, you must meet certain financial criteria though. Go through the phone book under "State, and County" to see what programs are listed there. Google Health Insurance programs- with your state listed after to see if anything pops up. These are just a few ideas! The payment plan with your Dr. is probably your best bet- but do see a doctor and get your condition under the best of control. I know it can be debilitating- Good luck! |
