Does anyone here suffer from LUPUS?

My mum has been in remission for a few years now although she does experience various symptoms to a lesser or greater degree a lot of the time.

For the past 9 months she has had severe neck pain that she describes as starting in her neck and going up over her head. It's not so bad when she sits upright, but as soon as she sits in an easy chair or slouches a bit, the pain is excruciating.

We're not sure if this is Lupus related. She has been for scans and x-rays, been to a physio, worn a neck brace, taken various anti inflammatories and pain killers, but to no avail.

Has anyone else experienced this symptom with Lupus and if so, any success in finding a way to relieve it?

Many thanks for you time

Hi Yes I have to say that in remission, when all the other pain go away, my neck and my knees alway hurt no matter what. I wish I could give you a reason why, and I to have had scan, Xrays, Nerve test, and my doctors just tell me that part of lupas, they dont understand why the Neck, Knees, and Kidneys seem to be the most and always affected area of the body that never get remission?
She might want to get a cat-scan to make sure her brain hasn't herniated at the base of her skull. Does she loose feelings in her arms and legs when she sits in a easy chair or slouches?
I have never been diagnosed with lupus, but I have the exact same pain that runs from the base of my skull and up the top of my head to my right eye. I sometimes lose vision in my eye. I had a cat scan done and nothing was found. I was told it was a sign of MS..so have your mother get checked for that. My "official" diagnosis was "atypical migraines" I still get the pain everyday. I will be watching this question to see if anyone else goes thru this...and if they know what it is. Goodluck to you and your mom!
