My mother is diabetic and has lupus. Can she file for disability? |
My mom is not only diabetic, but she has lupus. It's harder and harder for her to work full-time. Can she file for disability? If so, how? she can file, but use an attorney that specializes in disability cases. she will be turned down at least once. they fight for her. it is worth the little bit that they take of the settlement to have someone help you navigate the red tape. ask around to see who is a good attorney in your area. call them set up an interview. it can take up to two years to get it so get moving before she cant care for herself anymore. good luck. Good luck with your mom's disability case! I have Lupus, diabetes, hypothyroidism and growth hormone imbalance (caused by the steroids taken for Lupus) and yet I have been turned down for 11 years! I can't even get out of bed most days! I will pray for you as I do for myself every day! Judy If her doctor has told her she cannot work than she should be able to file for disability. I would say that she needs to consult with social services or employment office near her. If she is unable to work due to sickness, then she should be able to file with the proper documentation. Good luck and best wishes... I am a Diabetes Health Educator and a Type 2 diabetic. yes.....state and SSA!!!!!the doctor has control!!!! |
