Anyone been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, & then Lupus? I'm 36, female, what can I expect? ant93722 and jmom -- I don't think your replies were very nice or warranted -- especially when she was asking a question in an open forum for discussion. You both could have been a little more respectful toward her instead of being rude to her. Anyonoe is entitled to ask a question here and I'm sure what she meant was she wanted to see if others had this disease she is asking about, and what they might be going through and offer her advice. No need to be complete dickheads about it. You going to Die expect that and dont worry about anything else If you have been diagnosed, didn't your doctor discuss this with you? I suggest you visit http://www.arthritis.org and check out their resources. They have an RA discussion board that can offer you lots of support, and lots of other info about what to ask your doctor, how you can make little things easier, etc. Get some hardcore facts - things are less scary that way. If you are more knowledgeable about your illness you can be more active in your treatment. Don't be afraid to talk to your doctor about any fears you have. It will be a battle for you, but there's lots of people out there for you to lean on for support. I would suggest you possibly visit a therapist to help you deal with this. (I only have RA and I know how frightening that was - I know there are others in your shoes - you should be able to find them on the arthritis.org site!! Please visit there!!) Hi. I was diagnosed with Lupus and RA in 2000. It's scary and my life has changed somewhat but it's not all bad if you take care of yourself. I have good days and bad days. Proper diet and excercise are two of the best things for RA. Let me assure you its not the end of the world. I'm currently in school working on a BA degree. You mostly have to make little adjustments here and there. Like sun exposure, and learning to take it easy when your having a bad day. You can simply type 'Lupus' in Google and get all kinds of information. It's fairly easy to find a support group too. Good luck and stay positive. |
