I have heard that graves is similar to lupus? |
I found out I have graves . My mom died with Lupus. Is it true that if Graves is not catch it can turn to lupus? I am afraid of having Lupus. Lupus is an autoimmune disease causing the immune system to attack you body's own tissue, which can be triggered by infections, inherited or hormones. Graves Disease is also an autoimmune disease causing hyperthyroidism which causes an increase of hormones. So it is very possible that Graves Disease can cause the right bodily environment to start the trend of Lupus. Keep on top of it by seeing an Endocrinologist. I dont know if graves is similar to lupus. I do know it is hereditary though. I had 3 cousins that had it, all on my mothers side. My sister and I watch for it. I am glad you found a doctor who is willing to diagnose you, my doctor blew me off. Needless to say he is no longer my doctor. |
