Is it true that its impossible to have AIDS and Lupus? |
With Aids your immune system is underactive and with lupus your immune system is overactive. So wouldn't it be impossible to have both NO, you definitely could have both diseases. AIDS is caused by HIV which weakes the immune system. If you have an overactive immune system and in turn have Lupus or Psoriasis or any other overactive immune system chronic disease, then you could still contract HIV. Anyone can contract it regardless of what disease they may or may not already have. hmmmmmmmmmm interesting I have never thought about it. That is an interseting question. My Mom has lupus and she is a nurse. I'm going to call her and see if she knows. Aids can be spread by blood and Lupus can't. i don't think it's been proven so it may in fact be a possibility... I doubt that it would be impossible for both. Lupus is a very strange and unexplainable disease, but it mostly attacks a person's own immune system and organs, and doesn't really have the ability to create anti-bodies for a virus, I don't think. As far as anything medical goes, anything is possible. I work in the medical field and I have seen alot of crazy things that you wouldn't think could be possible. |
