Has there been any new breakthroughs in the research on lupus?

I have an autoimmune condition they think is lupus but are not sure. I am on meds for lupus.

I haven't heard anything, but the best thing I've taken for my lupus is a product called ambrotose. I don't have to take the recommended drugs thanks to ambrotose, and my hair has grown back, my skin has cleared up and I haven't had a flare up in five years. It's all natural but it's not a cure all, it builds your immune system and helps promote cell to cell communication. Basically it gives your body a fighting chance whether you have lupus, cancer, ms,diabetes or any other health issue. Here are some sites if you would like to check it out: www.glycostory.com/teamval and for a more scientific review www.glycoscience.org, here you can check out the disease specific review.
While a lot of research is being done into curing autoimmune diseases I think it's more important to focus on the causes for the rising numbers and varieties of autoimmune diseases that are being seen in the US and abroad. Autoimmune disorders have been linked to diet including processed food, exposure to large volumes of antibiotics both by prescription and in farmed meats, exposure to heavy metals in food and water, and various forms of radiation people are daily exposed to.

Currently, the treatment for lupus is antimalarial drugs and steriods. There are lots of things on the horizon. In February of 2006 there was a major study discussing the use of stem cell research with Lupus.

Most of the most recent breakthroughs have been in diagnostic tools. Hopefully, the days of guessing due to the 4 of 11 criteria will soon be over. Maybe even a cure.. for now guard your health, and make sure any sign of infection is treated immediately.
