My wife is suffering with joint pain.It shifts from one joint to the other. I suspect she may have Lupus.? |
Her elder sister is also found to be Lupus positive. She is now suffering from kidney failure. Since it is a rare disease, it is very difficult to find information about. What are the chances of my wife to be Lupys positive? What should I do? It could be lupus or arthritis,it is best to take her to a doctor as soon as possible. While there is no cure for either, both can be controlled and she can have a good life if treated in time. My sister had lupus and lived for 30 years with it, the lupus is not what she died of. Good luck. she could just get tested webmd has a page with Lupus symptoms emedicine also has information When to call the doctor * High fever * Unusual headache * Blood in the urine * Chest pain * Shortness of breath * Swelling of the legs * Weakness of the face, arms, or legs, on one side * Unusual abdominal pain * Unusual joint pain * Recurrent pregnancy loss (miscarriages) * Visual disturbances When to go to the hospital * Fever greater than 102掳F * Rapidly decreasing urine volume * Chest pain * Sudden onset or unusual shortness of breath * Sudden onset of weakness * Severe headache * Acute visual changes * Sudden onset of abdominal pain * Inability to bear weight or move a swollen joint due to severe pain * Rapid swelling of one or more extremities (arms, legs, hands, or feet) http://www.webmd.com/diseases_and_condit... http://www.emedicinehealth.com/lupus_sys... she needs to see a internal Med MD and get blood test to determine it or not Lymes disease has many of the same symptoms as Lupus Good Luck to you both with the outcome Sorry but it sounds like shemay be positive for lupis. Get her to the Dr. right away. I have kidney failure (but not lupis) and have seen several people with it. Good Luck. God Bless. Or, it could be rheumatoid. I think a doctor would know. She should make an appointment and go. |
