I am 50#overweight, have heel and arch pain in foot. Have ortrhodics and support shoes. Have Systemic lupus.?

I have had lupus since 1997. Been to a pediatrist and fitted with orthodics. Have numbness in toes and pain in heel and arch of foot. Do not have diabetis. Supposed to go to neurologist next month. Work on my feet in retail 38 hours a week. Antiinflammatories and pain meds do not work. Can't execise to lose weight because walking hurts. I am 43 years old.

Have you discused this with your Doctoer? The exercise part of it I mean. Surely there are exersises about where you don't need to walk. What about a rowing machine or as the other person said swimming. Also there should be some sort of diet to help you with your problem. Your Doctor will advise you on this also.
Exercise in a pool
poor you you do need a cuddle if i could i would give you one consider this is a cuddle ( ) from me to you first you need to cut down on food NO i don't mean a diet just take a little of your plate at a time give yourself a treat every day and i know its hard but be thank full you are not a child with no future to look forward to be positive and i know you will get there my best wishes
My mother had Lupus SLE and found that swimming was really the only exercise she could take as it was non-weight bearing. These aches and pains all seem to be part of lupus, there are probably stronger pain killers you could be given, but you need to impress upon your doctor the severity of the problem. You have my very best wishes.
Ask your doctor about Plaquenil.
I work at a foot doctor office and I hate to tell you but point blank, you really need to lose the weight. Most heel pain is caused by excess weight. Sounds like you have done most what you could do. Have they tried a walking cast? to keep pressure off your heel so you can begin to diet? Just think of how many bones and how fragile they are in your foot and how these feet have to support weight. I'm not getting on you, but just telling you what I know. Have you had injections? What does your medical doctor say about the heel pain vs lupus? Just watching your calorie intake can make a big difference.
sounds like you have a lot of foot issues going on, possible Morton's neuroma and plantar fasciitis. the orthotics may need some adjustments in order to be helpful. i would check with doctor that prescribed them to get some adjustment based on you current complaint of foot pain for starters. i also have a great website you may want to check out for yourself, myfootshop.com, it has several articles on foot conditions. i've listed some in the source use it as direct link to site. good luck.
