Any suggestions on staying healthy during pregnancy with lupus? |
Discoid Lupus Erythmatosis to be specific No one here really can answer your question because we don't know exactly how your lupus is affecting you. The best advice I can give you is to become best friends with your rheumatologist and OB and follow their advice. Of course all the generic precautions apply such as eating well, maintaining some form of mild physical activity, taking a prenatal vitamin, etc. Source(s): Labor and Delivery RN Make sure your obstetrician and rheumatologist work closely together. If you don't have systemic, you are less likely to have problems but it is wise to be cautious. Pregnancy can exacerbate lupus. Be extra careful about exposure to sun and UV light. Outside of that, get exercise, watch your weight gain, eat a healthy diet and get plenty of rest. Good luck to you! www.lupus.org |
