Lupus ... PCOS ...?

I have Lupus and PCOS among other things, I am on Provera, Prednisone and Clomid. I have been trying to get pregnant with just the Provera and Clomid with no luck for the past couple of months. My doctor just put me on Prednisone to see if it would help control the Lupus. Has anyone been on this combination and does it work?

I'm in the same boat with you. I have Crohn's Disease and PCOS. My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for about a year and half now with no luck. My doctor has tried alot of different cocktails for me to try and I think we are getting closer. I have taken Metaformin/Clomid, Metaformin/Clomid/Femara, This time he has me on Metaformin/Clomid/Prednisone 5mg......Yes Prednisone. I thought that sounded funny considering that's what I take when my Crohn's is flared up. (5mg is like candy to me) You can look up online prednisone and clomid and get more info. Has your Doctor Checked your FSH and LH levels? I'm guessing the reason you are taking provera is to start your cycle? Let me know if you need anything else, I'll try to help as much as possible.
It is not likely that the lupus is preventing you from conceiving. Lupus causes problems during pregnancy if you have any of the clotting factors (antiphospholipid antibodies, anticardiolipin, and lupus anticoagulant).

It is recommended that your lupus be under control before you get pregnant. The prednisone is a steroidal immunosuppressant and antiinflammatory. If you do become pregnant you need to have an obstetrician who knows lupus and specializes in high risk pregnancies. Changes are very good that you will carry and deliver a healthy baby, but it may be a bit premature.

Hormones generally aggravagte lupus.
