Are joint and muscle pain signs of lupus? Yes, they can be. They could also be signs of numerous other things. Only your physician can diagnose lupus or any other joint related disease. Yes. Could be Gout or Chronic Fatigue Or a Virus. No not necessarily, I am currently in the same situation and I have beend told that I have "mixed connective disease", in other words they are not sure what is causing my joint and muscle pain. I have taken the tests for lupus. rheumatoid arthritis, and so many other immune diseases. I am currently looking for a doctor to help me in find my diagnosis. Yes. 90-95% of lupus patients will experience joint pain and/or swelling during the course of the disease. Muscle pain is also a common symptom. However, many other disorders have the same or similar symptoms. An experienced rheumatologist is needed to diagnose lupus, since there is no single definintive laboratory test to diagnose it. www.lupus.org Not always.. Blood tests will tell you whats up... Dr's know no more now then they did 20 years ago. no funding for cause or cures out there. lupus is just now... I used to make these cookies for my diabetic elderly aunt. She really loved them and they're very healthy: 3 ripe bananas- mashed 1 cup chopped dried fruit (raisins, apricots, prunes... I think that alot of doctors just don't know alot about Lupus. It's hard to diagnose, and essentially is what you are told you have when all other diseases are ruled out in some cas... It can but this is really a question for a Doctor....
