Hi, Im Chris. I dont know what year it was when your aunt died, or if your moms tumor is benign or malignant, or if she will need chemo. I do know that In just the last 10 years life expectancy for Lupus paitents has risen, the life expectancy is close to normal, for most of us with lupus. I will be 40 next month. I have had Lupus since my teens, which went undiagnosed for too many years. I had a close call last year, but modern medicine and knowldge of medicine has helped a lot.

Your mom does need a hysterectomy. I had one at 29, a semi similar situation, I had chocolate cysts that where getting ready to burst, and early stage cervical cancer. If she does need chemo, it will help the cancer, and since it supresses the immune system, may help the Lupus a bit. I had 6 months of IV chemo last year, for a severe Lupus attack, it saved my life.

I kow and use many sites for education and researching, but I don't know which ones to give you. So I will give you a few, plus my email address, so you can email me. I can only imagine how scared you are. I imagine your a teen. I have a 13 year old, and she gets scared when I get really sick too. But sometimes it hard to know how much information to give her. So I wish I knew your age. On the other hand, I am going to be 40 and have an almost 21 year old. so you can be a young teen or a young adult.

So ill give you 3-4 sites, and my email

But I do know, with good dr's and support from you and family memebers, she will be ok, If her spirit is strong, love for you and if she has other children them too. Source(s): christibro40@yahoo.com

No one can predict what will happen, especially with lupus. Lupus is different in every patient.

Systemic lupus is a disorder where your immune system, which is supposed to protect your body from germs and viruses, attacks your own healthy body. It can affect any part.

Cancer and lupus are two very different things. Cancer occurs when some cells grow out of control. That makes a tumor.

The uterus is where babies grow before they are born. Many women lead a perfectly normal life without a uterus.

It is important to treat the cancer. Usually, doctors remove the cancer surgically and then use powerful drugs or radiation to make sure they got all of it.

Try to be patient with your mom. You are worried. Can you imagine how much more she is worried?

I hope everything works out OK.
