Can Lupus get up and leave your body--------permanately? |
was diagnose with Lupus----Aug.29/84--------and given one year to live. The DR ordered home care and everything else that went with it for me......... Since I have moved---------and not one DR will acknowledge that I have Lupus............I have alot of unneccessary pain----------stiffness, inflammation(when on antibiotic---I don't have any pain while using it) get a rash across cheeks about every 10 years-------got one 4 years ago went to emergency and there DR told me it was Shingles-------------from having chicken pox when I was younger(not one person in my family-----brothers,sisters, including myself)remember me having chicken pox-----------have been asthmatic all my life----and had measles----mumps------nothing else--so why don't DR acknowledge what the patient tells them as alot of us do know what we are talking about..........my feet hurt really bad and now lately was hospitalized for severe pain from neck down to bottom of feet and blood splurting out of anus------ You still have the symptoms that can go along with lupus EXCEPT the blood from the anus. Get medical attention for that NOW! The same patient with the same symptoms may present themselves to 2 doctors and one would come to the diagnosis of lupus and the other would not. Many doctors are not familiar enough with lupus to make a diagnosis. Get copies of ALL your medical records and bring them with you to your next appointment and also make an appointment with a good rheumatologist. Lupus does not leave your body, although it may be quiet for a while. Lupus IS your body. Lupus occurs when your own immune system attacks YOU. Lupus can go in remission, but was your original diagnosis based on lab results. It is very strange that a doctor would give you one year to live with lupus as most of us live full lives, just learning to manage symptoms. You may have some underlying autoimmune process going on that is not showing up in lab results. True lupus sufferers usually have rash more than once every 10 years. Did they do a colonoscopy? Has the previous doctor been asked to transfer medical records? I do have a friend that has had mild stiffness and pain but is considered in remission from lupus. If your original diagnosis was correct, let's hope that the disease has "burned itself out." |
