Does Night Blindness refer to another eye disease or problem or is Night Blindness actually a lay term for Macular Degeneration? Is Night Blindness a term that can refer to any number of diseases, like "tunnel vision"? Thanks. I was wondering as I was told that I would eventually not be able to see at night, then my Mom developed Mac Degen. I just never thought to as the doc when I went in for a bad case of iritis. Macular degeneration is a very specific thing. It is damage in a particular part of your retina. Night blindness is a whole different problem. The easiest fix is to get more beta-carotene. This is converted into rhodopsin in your eyes that is used in night vision. If this doesn't work, then you need to be checked out by an eye doctor. |
