once was diagn. with mac deg. when i was 30 now they say its some kind of distrophey, i might not spell corectly but , thats what they said now im 50 i was always told it was mac. degen. macular degeneration and dystrophies are deteriorating diseases ,and non curable,many things resemble what u said ,retinoschsis,geographical md ,chorioretinits Many disorders have similar symptoms especially in earlier stages. There are several dystrophies which affect the eyes and could have appeared as macular degeneration. It is not uncommon for doctors to revise a diagnosis as new symptoms become apparent as the disease progresses.
Your best course is to find out which particular dystrophy it is from your doctor. And research treatments and progression of that dystrophy.
