Please provide a source for your answer. According to the source (see link) below, approximately 2 million Americans are affected by AMD annually. Although I was unable to find records pertaining only to California, it might be reasonable to interpolate using statistics. America has around 300 million residents, so this suggests that 2/300 or a 0.6% rate of occurrence among the general population. California, with a population of just over 36,000,000, should therefore expect to see a little more than 237,600 cases of AMD annually. Bear in mind that several reports show Latinos at a higher risk of contracting AMD, and that California also has a substantial Latino community, so the statistics may be skewed slightly higher in that state.
