Menopause question...? |
Is it possible for a woman to go through menopause before ever reaching 30? If so, is there anything that can be done to reverse it? Like hormone replacement or fertility treatments? I'm 29 now and have not had a period since this past September (NO I AM NOT PREGNANT) and this worries me. Before I was always a bit irregular, but nothing like this. I'd only skip one or two months. So now, I'm facing 30 and the chances of ever having a baby are looking very small... Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The chances of that are very slim. It is not unheard of, though, and is called premature menopause or premature ovarian failure. The chances are 1 in 1000. There are so many other things that could explain the absence of your period. See your Dr. and put your mind at ease. 30 is not at ALL in the realm of getting too old these days. The best thing to do is go see a GYN ASAP and find out what is going on with your periods. There are many factors that can cause a late period. Menopause is more than just absent periods and is horrible to go through. My mom is 50 and going through it. I know you can start to show some signs at 40 (that is considered early menopause). No, you cannot go through Menopause before 30. You can have other health issues causing you not to get a period or you can just be very irregular but I would go to your OB/GYN ASAP. best bet is to go to the docs and see what is up there. |
