Do you think a woman's sexual desires decrease after menopause? |
I'm only in my late 30s but (pride aside) was wondering if menopause affects how much you want to have sex at all and how does your partner feel about it if you are affected? I hope not. My love life is very important to me When I first started to go thru menopause - yes -I would say there was a decrease in sexual desire. I was always so hot with the flashes that I couldn't stand my bf to come near me! Once those flashes stopped it was much better. It was hard on the the relationship because he couldn't understand what I was feeling and was very impatient. They just don't understand the mood swings and the "heat" problems and even when you try to communicate and discuss it they don't understand. Some men are just sweeter than others and hopefully yours will be more understanding. Many women have been said to have an increased interest in sex because they don't need to worry about pregnancy and other issues after menopause. And their partners are usually stimulated by that fact and sometimes even become more active. Some women do get a bit depressed over post-menapausal realization to the fact they may have still wanted children but can't achieve that goal anymore. but these are usually ones who started late. Some decrease, but some increase. Yes it does affect your sexual desire. Some women want it a lot more after menopause some less......some don't want to even be touched! As far as your partner.....he will need to be incredibly understanding to get through the menopause faze. Most men are if they love you. That is up to the person. It's variable person to person. The biggest problem i find is body clock differences! my partner is off to bed as i'm just starting to un-wind!!! (she incidentally is possibly just over menopause??) Not necessarily, some women say they have a higher sex drive, some say lower.... It varies for everyone but I wouldn't worry if you give time to yourself and your relationship and make time to still enjoy sex......... you will be fine during and after menopause you tend to be more irritable, if my partner even touches me in the wrong way i get stressed lol i definately think it decreases! I THINK IT DEPENDS ON THE PERSON Mine became almost nonexistent after my partner cheated on me. I am now 50 this was 7 years ago. |
