Is a 6 pound weight gain (in one week) normal during peri-menopause?


I exercise daily by walking from 30-45 minutes and do the points system (Weight Watchers) and basically stay away from junk food, is this normal (during this phase in a woman's life)?

I would say 6 lbs in a week is sudden weight gain and a cause of concern......It's not normal either.....

It may not be due to the peri-menopause thing; it could be some other things like an underactive thyroid; blood sugar imbalance; drugs and medications; fatty acid deficiencies......

6 pounds is quite a lot. Go on BMI and see if you are overweight.
