Does menopause aggravate restless legs syndrome?

I'm sitting here and it's almost 3 a.m. Can't sleep so I thought I'd do some research on RLS, but can't find any info about whether menopause will aggravate it. Can anyone find anything on the net for me to read?

RLS can be exacerbated by hormonal changes, especially if you are taking estrogen pills. Menopause, perimenopause, pregnancy & menstration have all been linked to Restless Leg Syndrome. Also, a very common "cause" is anemia.
I've been diagnosed with RLS about a year ago. My symptoms usually aren't too bad, but when they do flare up it usually happens EVERY night for weeks.
My doc put me on Requip and I find it works very well for me. Some people take it every day to avoid symptoms but I only take it once I feel the symptoms actually coming on. I usually get relief within 1/2 hour. I'm still a little too young for menopause (I'm 34) so I can't really speak to that but pregnancy REALLY aggravated my RLS.
Anyway, try this site:

also, everydayhealth.com is usually a good source too

GOOD LUCK !!!!
