Can I be going through Menopause?

I am 48 years old. Last month I got my period within 3 weeks. This month, it was within 2 weeks. I've been under alot of stress but I am not sure if it is stress related or if I am going through Menopause. Could this be a sign?

It sounds like you are at the beginning of Menopause. At 48 you are at the right age. Keep in mind that this phase of Menopause can last several years. Your cycles may be very irregular for the next year or so. Coming closer together for awhile then getting further apart before finally stopping altogether. Menopause is not a part of your life that happens quickly, and it does not have to be uncomfortable for you. Let your GYN know whats going on.

man-opause,david.seriously-if this is from a female,dont necessarily write period problems off as menopause!see ur dr.i am 48 and had the same symptoms,my period would end,and like,8 or 10 days l8r.i would get it again.i went to the dr expecting to be told it was perimenopause,but it turned out i had endometriosis and ovarian cysts-so,to be sure,see ur dr.my problem is under control now,good luck.

Can be if you have doubts get it checked. A woman is menopausal after her periods have stopped for one year. Menopause typically occurs in a woman's late forties to early fifties. well to be sure you need to see an obgyn, my periods were going crazy sometimes two a month and sometimes it would be three or four months to the next one, found out that i had cysts on my overies, if you are not experiencing hot flashes then i would say no to menopause

it could be my mom started at 36
