My sweet mommy...and her menopause?

My mother told me a couple of months ago that she was going through menopause and I just kind of didn't pay attention to it. I am not sure how long this whole thing lasts but I know that it can have some effects such as emotional(?) and I feel bad now because I didn't really ask her too many questions and I don't feel like I was supportive of her through this. Do you think she is still undergoing menopause? How long does it last? And what should I do to make things easier for her. I love my mom so much and I am her only daugher. I want to be there for her.

Menopause can last for a very long time. Everybody is different. You can go through menopause for over 20 years which could be hell. My best friends has been going through it now for about 12 years and it drives her nutts. Another friend about 9 months and she said she feels as if she's going crazy.
You can sometimes help her by making her laugh with crazy jokes and letting her know that you love her just as you let us know.

Evidently you paid it more attention than you thought because you are eager to help her in anyway you can. Ask he what she feel and how can you help to see what she say.
