Describe what hot flashes during menopause feel like?

Describe what hot flashes during menopause feel like?

An intense, furnace-like, internal heat that builds and expands outward until it JUST reaches your skin. You can't even think straight while it's happening (unless your thought is "oh no, not again, why me?" You'll be able to think that very clearly :D). Then it stops, the heat recedes, and you sweat like a pig for ten or fifteen minutes afterward.

I had them before menopause too, they're just much worse now.

You suddenly get very hot, and usually a red flush spreads from your face to your neck to your chest. Flushes are often quite short, but can be distressingly frequent. Associated night sweats can be worse; I have experienced sweat running down my face, between my boobs and down my thighs. I keep a cotton handkerchief under my pillow to mop up! Some people swear by black cohosh, sadly it didn't help me! However, on a personal note, I wold rather have hot flushes than periods!

Hot flashes feel like, heat coming from the inside out (of your body), then it suddenly goes away and usually you get them more frequently at night (night sweats).
