Could I be starting Menopause?

My husband and I did some infertility treatments over a year ago. And then decided to stop. Since then, Ive had very very irregular periods and skipped a couple periods.

Ive just turned 42, Im in good health, but Ive pretty much skipped the past two periods. In December I had just a spotting for a good 10 days, and then again here in January, it's just spotting for 3 days. Ive had sort of Mild PMS type symptoms at all different times (rather than just before my period) my breasts have been tender off and on. It seems like I should be getting my period, but it's just a tiny bit on the toilet tissue.

I dont really have hot flashes or vaginal dryness at all. But I just cant account for why my periods have begun to be so spotty. Could I be in menopause? Or starting menopause? It seems a bit early for that. Can women have menopause at my age?

Also.. has anyone else done fertility drugs and then had problems with their periods that lasted so long? Can fertility drugs cause me to begin menopause so early?

I'm 50 and started having irregular periods about ten years ago. At first I'd miss a month, then two and it would come. Sometimes I wouldn't get it for 4 months. When it did come it was the heaviest I ever had in my life. I had to wear a pad every day because I never knew if it was coming or not. Right now I haven't had a period in 2 years. Luckily the only symptoms I've had are extreme mood swings. It was so bad. I told my gynecologist and he gave me Serafem (antidepressant) for the mood swings and I've been fine. I have had occasional night sweats but nothing major. Good Luck!

Hot flashes, night sweats, coldness
Irregular periods that can be heavy, light, shorter or longer cycles
Difficulty sleeping either getting to sleep or staying asleep
Mood changes, anxiety, depression, irritability
Heart palpitations (if you experience any heart disturbances, always consult a physician)
Dry skin and/or hair loss
Loss of or decreased sexual desire
Vaginal dryness
Incontinence
There are many other symptoms that women may experience during the pre-menopause years. Sometimes the symptoms of menopause can be mimicked by other conditions--commonly thyroid disorders--so it's important anytime you experience changes that are different for you that you consult your physician.
The symptoms can begin up to 8 years before you actually hit menopause

The age of 42 years appears to be too early to go for a menopause. And fertility drugs may not play any role on your menopause. You may consult your gynaecologist and continue your fertility tests, or going for a testube baby etc.,.

yes sorry, hope you had kids b4 your clock ran out
