I am 47 and believe I am experiencing menopause symptoms.? |
I visited knowmenopause.com and read that menopause can beging as early as 45. I have a history of fibroids and my periods recently went from extremely heavy bleeding to barely bleeding at all. I am also experiencing extreme vaginal itching. I did see my gyn last Thursday for bleeding during sex. She did not say there was an infection or anything but the itching is almost unbearable. I have been swabbing the area with alcohol just to relieve the itching(really it does work. It stings! but it does work!) The knowmenopause.com site does state that vaginal itching and irritation are symptoms. Is anyone else experiencing these symptoms? What did you do to relieve them: night sweats, vaginal itching, bleeding during sex.... Hormone Replacement Therapy can relieve the symptoms of menopause. But there is some risk to H.R.T. You will need to talk to your doctor again. ( I know it sucks! ) But you should not take any chances with your body. * This time ask more questions to the Doc. If he or she won't answer your questions, then it is time to get a new doctor. =* Good luck! Menopause is a stage in life when a woman stops having her monthly period. It is a normal part of aging, marking the end of a woman's reproductive years.Get enough calcium. A woman going through menopause needs 1000 mg to 1500 mg of calcium a day. Avoid excessive amounts of salt to reduce bloating associated with hormonal changes.
