Is it normal to get your period after menopause? |
Is it normal to get your period after menopause? if you have gone a full 12 months without a period and you are not taking HRT then its not normal and is a good indicator that something is not right , but it doe,ant mean there is something seriously wrong BUT its wise to get yourself checked over and have peace of mind , good luck No. If you haven't had your period in a year or more and start bleeding visit the gyn. I don't know where I read this but I read about it somewhere. The whole concept of menopause is the end of menses. If you have bleeding after that I would think it's not normal and would get to a doctor fast. Well, my mom was going thru menopause, she had hot sweats and stuff. Then one day, she got her period. I dont think she was done with menopause though, she was in the middle of it. Just in case, check with a doctor. Plus, read the book my mom has by Christene Northrup about menopause. I've never read it, but i bet it can answer any questions you have! Yes it is. Menopause does not come on all at once, but progresses over a period of years. Even a post-menopausal woman in her seventh or eighth decade can have occasional spotting. It may mean nothing or it may be a warning sign of a developing problem at that age - so if you're there, see your doctor. Forty years clinical experience |
