Do you think I could be having my menopause@42. My last period was on the 6th of September. No sex since then? |
What are the symptoms of menopause? What age does it start? Hi, It is possible but like most of the other replies you need a blood test that will give you a definite diagnosis, Are you feeling well? Have you had any stress in the last few months? You may be pregnant you are still able to have children, Do you know what age other family females have had there menopause? because my doctor says it is hereditary I have not had a period since 1998 i was 40yrs old, they just stopped and i feel fine about it, the doctor did do a blood test but it was negative, but i did have a scan which showed i have a few cyst's but as they don't bother me they can stay, My advice to you is see your doctor if you are troubled by this, Once you get the hot flushes you will know what is happening to you, I wish you well take care x You can get a kit (next to the pregnancy tests) in Boots now that will tell you if you have reached menopause. Your period is only 5 days late though, so I wouldnt worry that much! go to your gp, and get a blood test done. you could be going through the menopause at that age, so get checked to make sure You can start at any age, but you could be pregnant, I don't think periods just stop, from what I have heard they slow down, you get hot flushes, but you are reaching that age, so you could be. The symptoms vary greatly but usually its hot flushes, night sweats and mood swings that are most common. If in doubt your GP can do a simple blood test that instantly says if you are going through the menopause and if you are still ovulating. Best to go and get checked as it may be a little infection or you may need HRT etc.. Good luck Menopause can certainly start at your age, but unless you are exhibiting other signs - night sweats, hot flashes, major mood swings - it may be another reason. The only way to be sure is to go to your doctor and be open and honest. There are many, mnay signs and symptoms of menopause, and it's onset is different in just about every woman. Take care. Sadly I had my last period at age 42. They stopped quite suddenly. I did have menopausal symptoms for a while though, like hot flushes and irritability (a bit like PMT) and saw my doctor about hormone replacement therapy. If you are not pregnant and have any further missed periods, do go and see a (female) doctor |
