If a woman has psychiatric problems during her menopause?

Does she go back to being "normal" when the menopause is complete? No its not me its someone else that I know vaguely that seems to be acting strangely and is having to have some treatment. I just wish that she would get better soon as her family are upset at what is happening to her.

My mum had a nervous breakdown during her menopause and was in a psychiatric hospital for a few months.

After it ended the depression lifted. She did have a very brief relapse about five years ago, but nothing anywhere as serious as before. Other than that she has been fine.

Obviously, not everybody's experiences are going to be the same as my mum's, but I suppose it's an indicator that even after very severe depression, a person can fully recover.
in my experience (not personally! I'm only 26, my mother)
no, they stay stir crazy
If her change is do to hormones being out of whack yes. She should be herself after her period.
Not sure.
