What happens to the female hormone levels during post menopause and what are its effects on the body? estrogen levels drop dramatically. this causes a huge effect on bone density. estrogen encourages the build up of bone, so with out it, bone loss accelerates. so in the first 5 years after menopause, bone loss is very accelerated, then levels off to slow rate of decline (thebody gets used to the new levels). shes right up there^^...very low levels of estrogen affect FSH and LH levels...thus stopping menstruation. |
