If you have a blood test for lipids and menopause, will it show elevated liver enzymes as well? |
dou you have to have a special test for tha Yes,those are seperate tests... ask the Doctor for a CMP (comprehensive metabolic panel) blood test, this will measure liver and kidney enzymes and other vital electrolytes... these are very informative health screenings which can show findings that may be abnormal yet you do not feel a thing... do it for peace of mind. If lipids are normal you only need to be tested yearly. If lipids are high you may need meds, then you should be tested every 3 months. Don't forget lipids testing ranges should be in these areas: Total Cholesterol: below 200 Tryglycerides: below 150 LDL: (bad cholesterol) below 100 HDL: (good cholesterol) above 40 Be sure to have your blood drawn for this test and do not eat for 12hrs. before test... a pin prick will only reveal the cholesterol... not the other important fats. no... you would need a liver panel.........ask your doc to order this also...........good luck......... |
