Whats the earliest age a women can go into menopause? |
Whats the earliest age a women can go into menopause? in very rare cases it can happen in the twenties but usually early forties If the ovaries are taken out of the body surgically, a woman can go into menopause, unless hormonal replacement is used. This can happen at any age. I know women who are perimenopausal at age 38. I am 51 and still perimenopausal. It is an individual thing. Do you know when your mom stopped? That may be an indication for you. I am 31 years old and was diagnosed 1 1/2 years ago with Peri-menopause, early menopause. I thought my doctor was nuts but when I told my mom what he told me she said that was very possible that her mother, my grandmother, went through menopause at 28 years old and her sister, my aunt, also went through it at a very young age. It sucks bad, too. I am miserable. Moody as h*ll, hot flashes, night sweats one minute and chills the next and an overall disturbed feeling that I cannot get rid of. I will be so glad when it is over. It depends on the woman. I didn't have a regular period until I was midway through college. By the time I was in my mid thirties, I had already reached menopause, without all of the attached problems that seem to go along with it. My mother had a hysterectomy so it's hard to tell genetically. I also have two sisters who went through it quite late - 50's. It'll be interesting to see how my daughter fares on this one. My sister never had regular periods, and after years of specialists found out she post-menopausal at the age of 28. |
