What can i do to prevent night sweats caused by menopause? |
What can i do to prevent night sweats caused by menopause? I use a very low dose of estrogen, released by a patch I wear on my skin. I apply a new patch once a week. It is very effective. Without it, I have dozens of intense hot flashes a day. I am aware of the tiny increased risk of cancer, but I am staying in shape, exercising, and watching what I eat so that I keep other risk factors at a minimum. Hormone treatment can help relieve some of your symptoms. However, there are always the risks with hormone treatment. Increased risk for cancer is one of the big ones. Ask your doctor about hormone treatments, otherwise, you'll just have to tough it out, until your body's hormone levels level off! Cory, RN |
