I dont think you can physically get pregnant after you hit menopause...in fact I think that's what menopause is for. But then again, what do I know. I'm only 23!
There is no set menopause age, as long as you still have monthlies, there is a chance of pregnancy. It is not always the safest or best time to get pg at that time in your life, birth defects abound in women of older age. If you are trying I do wish you the best of luck.
The real deal: When a woman starts experiencing peri-menopause, she starts missing months sometimes and it's often an irregularity for awhile. During this time it's possible to get pregnant. Normally, after a woman has had 12 continuous months of not having a ovulation/period without pregnancy, (and there are no other reasons this would be), she is then considered to be menopausal and then it is considered normally that pregancy would not occur.

There are always those crazy exceptions though. I have known a couple of those women who swear they went past 12 months, knew they were not getting pregnant anymore and (both overweight) SURPRISE, all of the sudden in the delivery room! One of them was a friend's mother and she thought she was just having bad heartburn the day before she delivered a new baby.
yes. but it's highly dangerous. those women who have babies above 35 are already considered dangerous. what's more women close to the age of 50.
Every woman is born with a set amount of eggs. At puberty hormones begin to mature several eggs each month. During ovulation a woman's body picks the most healthy and releases it. The others are re-absorbed into the body. Obviosly, as a woman ages, there are fewer eggs, and the quality of eggs decreases. Menopause is a hormonal change in one's body that signals the ovaries to stop maturing eggs or that they are running out. Many risks of birth defects increase exponentionally with age because of this factor. It is more and more dangerous for the mother and child a woman reaches her menopausal age.
there have been instances when a woman who had thought she had gone through menopause really hadn't and gotten pregnant. it is okay to get pregnant now, however, chance of downsyndrome and many other chromosomal abnormalities goes up significantly, even by the time a woman reaches the age of 35, and you would probably be considered high risk.
No. If you do, the baby will probobaly be mentally retarted.
