Im 49 years old an have been told im going through the menopause , is there anyhting i can take to stop thesez hormones-ask a doctor Talk with your doctor about taking hormones. They normally won't start you on hormones till after your period stops for at least 6 months. But to answer your question directly no there is nothing out there that is going to keep you from going threw menopause, but taking the hormones can make the transition easier. 13 yrs in medicine Stop these what? You can't stop the menopause, but you can control some of the symptoms. The natural estrogens in soy are supposed to help a great deal (soy milk, tofu, edamame...) Pro-Gest Body Cream is also good. You can find it at any Health Food store. Just rub about 1/2 teaspoon on your wrists once a day. Exercise, especially with weights, helps prevent bone loss, weight gain and just plain helps you feel better. well ur 49, it has to stop at some point, so just get it over with sorry but how can u not know? i know u cant stop them, u can take tablets to make them hurt less....im 14 and i know that... Although used less than 1/3 as much as they were 5 years ago, HRT preparations can and are still used to reduce and control menopausal symptoms. Short term use has little risk. Alternatives, which are not nearly as effective, include Beta blockers and Clonidine. |
