My 40 year old daughter is an emotional wreak. Could she be going through menopause this young?

Yes. Take her to the doctor so they can put her on medication. I have a 41 year old friend who went straight to menopause after giving birth to her second child.

It's doubtful but possible only a gyn. can tell for sure. She may have something else going on like a hormone in-balance or severe fibroids. Irregular menstrual cycles can contribute and she may need a low dose pill to help. She may have high blood pressure or depression. An internal medicines doctor can help identify the nature of the problem.
