Ladies, at what age did you start the menopause?

Would be interesting to know at what age your period started too?!

The current age of the onset of puberty is now 10 years, with the menarche, ( first period ) being at 12 years. The current age at the onset of the menopause is now risen to 51 years, menopause lasts from overnight to 6 years! Source(s): GP for more years than I care to remember
I had my last child at 68 and started the menopause three years later.
my period was started at 13, im 28 now, so still long way to menopause, my mum is 50 now, and her period started like reduce, only come for 1 day, think she is near to menopause.
started at 13yrs old & finished at 45yrs..with no symptoms whatsoever of the menopause..just stopped & have never felt SO good in my whole life!! i think i'm one of the lucky ones!!
14 and 45. Been on HRT, which was a great help, but am now back to sqare 1 after 7 years
I started with the menopause in 1998, aged 46 years old. The night sweats were so bad that I had HRT patches for a while but they did not suit me and I preferred the hot flushes - although not much -smile. It is 9 years since it all began and I am now almost through it but what an ordeal.

Started my periods when I was 13 years old.
