Is it true that we women lose our sexual interest after menopause? |
i hope we dont :( Some women lose it shortly after saying "I DO"..... others lose it after 3 or 4 kids and still some lose it during and after menopause while the lucky ones NEVER lose it.... I've long since gone through menopause and I definitely have not lost any interest.... in fact, I believe my interest is GREATER now because I don't have to worry about that ONE LONG LONELY WEEK PER MONTH any more....now all I have to do is find an old man to SHARE it with!!!!!! usually its sooner, like after having kids some do some dont...i havnt.. Not all women do but if you do have decreased sex drive then see your doc and get it treated. yes. women have 3 major sexual hormones, estrogen , progesterone, and testosterone. as a matter of fact, some steroid glubulin will bind to testosterone and converts it to estrogen. menopausal women has reduces testosterone in their body, so the steroind has no one to bind to hence low sexual drives. but testosterone patch which is still in its primary stage can significantly increase the sexual drive from low to normal. i turned 46 yesterday. i had a hysterectomy in 2001. since then, i have not been on hormones because breast cancer runs in my family. and i have no sex drive. my husband is lucky to get it once every 6 months. and that is not an exaggeration. so i believe that it all has to do with the hormones. if youre going thru the change and you ask your dr. for hormones, you should still be able to remain active sexually. in fact you will most likely have more of an appetite since you know you cant get pregnant. but always talk to your doctor. he can advise you for what is best for your body. well during menopause all women reduce the desire of sex, mainly because during this time the ovalrie stops producing estrogen (the female hermone)and the female hermone is what fuels that desire to have sex, |
