Digestive + menstrual problems?

OK, first off, I am NOT PREGNANT

But I have missed 5 periods (I'm 19, and I used to get very regular periods.) and for the past month or so it seems like I can't digest anything, I get really bad stomach aches/cramps and alternate between constipation and diarrhea. I'm feeling really faint today and can't get to a doctor until friday - is there anything I can do to treat these symptoms in the meantime? I've already posted this once or twice, but most of the responses I get are "are you sure you're not pregnant", and yes I am sure. I need help, please, any info will help. thanks

hormones do wreak havoc on the gut around that time of the month. Definitely get in to see a GI as it may be IBS, IBD, or other. I have Crohn's and I find that my symptoms are definitely worse around that time of the month.

My GI told me that when estrogen levels decline and the progesterine goes up, it will cause discomfort or CD problems for a short time. He gave me something for stomach spasms and pain meds and my primary MD gave me a muscle relaxer which helped greatly.

I understand your pain, not being able to digest food, the bad cramps, stomach aches, etc. Try a heating pad on your gut for 15 minutes on 20 minutes off or better yet, use a Thermacare wrap for your back but move the heating discs to the front. You can sleep with this on for 8 hrs. I've done it and I do get relief if I am out of my meds.

I really hope that you feel better.

If you have missed 5 periods... then I bet all that pain and cramps is because you are ganna get it this time...so I guess its normal..we all girls get cramps and pain before our period and I bet that thats what it is...go to a near by pharmachy and ask them for meds that can help ease ur cramps and then if pain continues I guess friday would be a good time to tell and see if u need to see a doctor

my friend had this problem and it had something
to do with acid in her stomach the best thing to do is go
to the doctor and he well give you meds

take tylenol.
