Problems with Menstrual cycle since having baby?? Please help..?

Since I had my son on 3/27/08, I bled for two weeks afterward. I had a c-section. I breastfeed him exclusively for 4 months, and I never had a period. I began breastfeeding and formula feeding until Nov. 2008. I didn't have my first period until the middle of Oct. 2008, and it lasted for a month. In December I had a period that lasted for 3 weeks. Went to the hospital and was diagnosed with cysts on the ovaries. In Jan., the doctor told me the cyst was no longer present. In Jan and Feb. of 2009, I've had pretty normal periods lasting 7 to 10 days. However, I did not get my period in March, and now as of the 6th of April, still no period.

Has anyone else went through this? I stopped breastfeeding my son in Nov. 2008, and I still have milk as well, is this normal?

My cycle is also all over the place, i have not had a period now for 2 mths. I spoke to my HV last week and she said it's normal, that it can take at least 12 mths for everything to go back to normal. Try not to worry, as this can delay your cycle even more. If you are really worried though, go and speak to your GP. Good Luck

I have heard some people have milk months or even years later-I'd consult your OB about the lack of periods, though-you might just be really irregular/still adjusting from the hormonal changes, but given you had a problem with cysts, its worth checking out.
