Menstrual problems? |
my doughter is only 17 she is not sexualy active but she has heavy menstruation and it last long what could it be? Firstly, get her to see her DR (if she has not done so already), he may do an ultrasound, pap/internal, whatever he may see necessary. If everything is ok, than, it's just her body and hormones. I started to menstrate when I was 11, and mine have always been very heavy, long and close together (I'm nearly 30 now, have 2 kids, and can't wait for menopause!!) I wouldn't suggest these meds whose main purpose is to shorten periods. This isn't natural. If the Dr. suggests this, get your daughter a 2ND, and even 3rd opinion. The female body works in cycles, and unfortunately for us, periods are part of it. Keep some ibuprofen and chocolate in the house, and tell her to do at least a bit of exercising during her period. I HATE the thought of any kind of movement this time of the month, but I try to even walk a bit, and it does actually help relieve symptoms to a tolerable level. Good luck to you both!! It could be a number of things.. i know a lot of people that are the same way, and their doctors put them on Birth control to help out. Maybe she needs to be more active and eat healthier. She should see a doctor. That is not normal. eventhough she isnt sexually active you might want to look in to putting her on birth control. A lot of them have been proven to help regulate your cycle, make it lighter , and help menstruel cramps. check w/ an obgyn to see wich kind is best. that could just be how she is naturally. talk to your doctor about birth control if its really bothering her. you need to make an appointment with a gynocologist...if there is something wrong with her than he/she can help... |
