I don't keep track of my menstrual cycle. How big of a problem is this? It isn't really a problem not to keep track, it's just good mainly to monitor your cycles and keep track of your body function. If something is ever wrong, your menstrual cycle may play a factor and it's a really good idea to keep tabs on yourself. eg if a doctor ever asks, you wouldn't want to seem clueless, it could hinder your diagnosis, if that (your period) was ever a cause of an illness. It's advised to keep a track of your cycle because then you can work out whe your next period will be. xXx I am not sure if you are saying that you have irregular cycles, or...? I think you're hormones are not balanced if you are not getting it on time each month or every 2 months or every 3 months. I am not sure how old you are, but i would say that taking birth control pills to regulate your cycle and your hormones as well will take care of this problem. If you don't want to, it's not a big deal, but it might help you notice things like if and how you're mood is effected by pms. For most people, an approximation is fine. It's a good idea to keep track because if something is going on and the dr asks about symptoms and such they are going to be wanting an exact date for first day of last period. Asking for the first date of last menstrual period helps gives clues to a pattern that is being established for whatever is going on that is not normal. One other example of the importance of this is in a woman who is pregnant. It can help them get a better idea of when the baby is going to be coming. |
