Menstrual disorder? |
Are there any women out there that have unusually long missed periods also called amenorrhea? I had missed periods as a new mother that breastfed but for a very long time, instead of the 6 months they say it should be I didn't get my menses for a whole 10 months and after that month(aug) I am going on another missed month. I am still breasfeeding my son but not nearly as much as before and even beginning to wean him. I am pretty sure I'm not pregnant, but have had abnormal and missed periods since I began menstruation. I am now 29 and have had pre-cancerous conditions and abnormal papsmears in the past in which I had a LEEP procedure done. I made an appt to be seen, but that will be another month yet to wait. Has anyone ever had similar conditions? I don't have an eating disorder and I am not under or over weight. I do tend to bruise easily and have hemmoreghed (sp?) after my second child 3 years ago. I may have a blood clotting disorder so b/c pills would not be a good idea Ohhh, MENSTRUAL disorder. I thought you had a mental disorder. I can't help you with that. If you had a mental disorder I might be of some service. At any rate, go to the doctor, my sister in law had something like what you are talking about. She didn't have her period for about a year. No, she was not, is not, or ever was pregnant. It turned out to be something that wasn't "serious", but I don't remember what it was or what caused it. Anyway, she's much better now. You know I'm a musician. Would you mind if I called my band "Menstrual Disorder?" Our band cannot come up with a good name and that actually sounds cool. plse ask a doctor. i had amenorrhea for 2years it was due to the fact that i was aneamic, nurse You really do need to go see your doctor. Don't wait.. it could be any number of things. I will share my own experience... I had amernorrhea for 2 years. it was because I have polycystic ovarian syndrome. It caused me to gain weight but that is not always the case. My sister has it too and she's an average size 7/8. Due to your abnormal paps and blood problems, it is probably something else entirely, but dont rule it out because it can sneak up on you. I don't know if your insurance would allow you to go to another doctor that may be able to see you sooner, but you might want to check into that as well since you have to wait another month anyway. |
