PCOS/metabolic syndrome help!!?


I have been diagnosed with severe PCOS which is leading to metabolic syndrome. I exercise and have been dieting for 2 months and have only lost 4 pounds! They told me women with PCOS gain weight easily and have a very difficult time losing it, but losing weight is the best thing to help with the symptoms. So, what can I do nutritionally or through exercise to increase weight loss? And how can I get my hormones to be more normal?

Well I too have PCOS and was diagnosed August of 2008. In the last months I have been able to lose about 25 pounds following the Low GI diet and taking 1500mg of prescribed Metformin. This is something you can get from your GP.

I have increased my activity slightly, but am changing that soon. Doing all of these things will assist in your weight loss and increase your fertility as well as level out your hormones. I wish you luck! You are not alone!
