Polycystic ovarian/metabolic syndromes? |
Today my doctor informed me that she thought i had polycystic ovarian syndrome as well as metabolic syndrome. Apparently they go hand in hand. She didnt really tell me anything about either one, how it should be treated.. or even what either of of them are really. Can anyone give me any info on either or any person experiences they would like to share? Also she did say the first treatment is birthcontrol, which in my case has not helped and she said we have to move on to a diffrent treatment.. but she didnt say what.. Just that she would call me. I was diagnosed with this before it was even called PCOS. I just did an arbitrary search in the engine on this page and found this: http://www.justeves.com/tmma/pcod.shtml... I would also go to an endocrinologist rather than an OB or any doctor rather than this one because she is an A**. You were treated badly and that is uncalled for...also have your thyroid checked. BTW: I have a child that I conceived(yes, I have a husband) and gave birth too...have a period every month and all is right with the world.... check out the mayoclinic.com or webmd.com i go there whenever i have health concerns and need to more infor to ask good questions of my doc next time I her. |
