Migraines getting scary could not see?

I have had migraines for a very long time now. I had one Friday that hit me hard and quick. I could not see anything but blurred images. I usually get tunnel vision. My whole left arm started hurting really bad and tingling. I took my imitrex and a pain pill which I could not keep them down because of the vomiting. My husbad wanted to take me to the er, but our hospital is terrible so I refused to go. I am still hurting today but less severe. I dont know where to turn or what to do for these migraines. I have been on every triptan and several preventative meds. I am in pain every day now and I have to work which is very hard. Does anybody have any ideas for me? I have been to several neurologist also.

You should have went to the ER, even if it is a bad hospital. Your symptoms sound like it could be more than just a migraine this time. You should still get it checked out.
If it turns out to be only a migraine try massage therapy, I have had some success with this. I have also heard that acupuncture works for some people (not me I'm afraid of needles). Change in diet can also be useful like less caffeine, no aged or processed foods. My neurologist told me not to totally take caffeine out of my diet as it is a natural pain reliever and my migraines would be worse if I did.
I know that migraines are tough to deal with, I didn't mean anything bad about saying just a migraine just worried that there could be something more involved this time.

Reasons are many, pl see what suits you.
If you are in cold country use all warm things.
Pl try cold water bath and observe if in hot country, if pain increases use warm.
If you have cough/cold body hot water bath will help.
Massage and exercise in front of morning sun is good thing, pl try.
Pl try simple acupressure given below for immediate relief.
If it fails you will have to go for Acupuncture.

There is hardly any medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache, Ear ache/ringing, Stomach ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.

Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES, Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes.
None of them can be treated with medicine.
Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.

Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.

Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, tension, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods, SMOKING and alcohole.

Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits like dates, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help if cough is not there.

But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong.

If it is acute pl search a painful point (with round tipped pen/jimmy) 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

For forehead/eye pain the points are in front of nails on the finger tips or 3-7 mm below.

It may disappear naturally too.

I'm so sorry you have the same affliction as me and many others. See the answer given to my question yesterday re: HELP (migraine) by dbgyog. I don't completely understand the whole answer, but I've gotten relief with massage, and acupressure. The Neuro therapy wasn't for me. I felt like a zombie. Sometimes I hallucinate an odor like burning tar or rubber along with aura, sometimes the nausea, and numbness, too. There are horrible times when the sound of my own breath is painfully unbearable.
I honestly think the only cure is to maintain an alkaline diet and keep fit. My mother used to get migraine and then after 20 or so years, they just stopped.
Get some fresh air if possible, even in winter, it helps somewhat.
But that last resort, shot of Toradol might have been needed. The icky rebound headaches aren't much better, but by then I know there is an end in sight, somewhere, someday.

I have had migraines since 1962, when the docs didn't know what caused them or how to treat them. They gave me injections into my temples but that didn't help. I took Darvon 65 for years then I read in a newspaper about taking Inderal and Pamelor for migraines. I talked to my doctor about I had read and he said that I could try it. He said that it won't work right away. It would take anywhere from 1-3 months for it to build up.

Now I have less of them and not very strong (severe). I can actually take Excedrin for them. I usually take 2-3 tabs at a time. Then they go away.

I would probably ask your doctor if something along the line of what I took would help you.

Good Luck ! At what ever you might try.
