Migraines getting scary could not see? |
I have had migraines for a very long time now. I had one Friday that hit me hard and quick. I could not see anything but blurred images. I usually get tunnel vision. My whole left arm started hurting really bad and tingling. I took my imitrex and a pain pill which I could not keep them down because of the vomiting. My husbad wanted to take me to the er, but our hospital is terrible so I refused to go. I am still hurting today but less severe. I dont know where to turn or what to do for these migraines. I have been on every triptan and several preventative meds. I am in pain every day now and I have to work which is very hard. Does anybody have any ideas for me? I have been to several neurologist also. You should have went to the ER, even if it is a bad hospital. Your symptoms sound like it could be more than just a migraine this time. You should still get it checked out. Reasons are many, pl see what suits you. I'm so sorry you have the same affliction as me and many others. See the answer given to my question yesterday re: HELP (migraine) by dbgyog. I don't completely understand the whole answer, but I've gotten relief with massage, and acupressure. The Neuro therapy wasn't for me. I felt like a zombie. Sometimes I hallucinate an odor like burning tar or rubber along with aura, sometimes the nausea, and numbness, too. There are horrible times when the sound of my own breath is painfully unbearable. I have had migraines since 1962, when the docs didn't know what caused them or how to treat them. They gave me injections into my temples but that didn't help. I took Darvon 65 for years then I read in a newspaper about taking Inderal and Pamelor for migraines. I talked to my doctor about I had read and he said that I could try it. He said that it won't work right away. It would take anywhere from 1-3 months for it to build up. |
