Do migraines lead to petit mal seizures? or vise versa? |
i've had migraines lately and i space out alot(similar, if not petit mal seizures) and i was just wondering if they were related or not... they treat migraines with anti-convusants so there is a connect. I didn't find any info for you about a relationship between migraines and petit mal seizures. I found a lot of forums where people discussed .about having a history of severe headaches and migraines before eventually suffering the onset of petit mal seizures. I wish I knew the answer to that myself. I have been having what I now know are petit mal seizures (no loss of conscienceness or body tremors) my entire life. I have suffered migraine headaches, some doctors have diagnosed as Cluster migraines, for about 20 years now. In the past year, I have progressed to having full-blown gran mal seizues. The migraines are almost a constant part of life for me, and are at their worst after a gran mal. I have other health disorders besides this, but I've been to countless neurologists who cannot explain or stop the seizures or migraines~but I keep fighting. See a neurologist ASAP, please, before it progresses. I wish the best for you. They certainly can be related. I have had seizures for about twenty years and migraines either follow or preclude every one of them. Migraine is a recurring vascular headache, mostly in women. after having a seizure you have headaches and are tired. no- follow up with your neurologist. |
