I TRIED ..... but it was 2 am and I had to take my ambien or i would wake up with a migraine..SOO SAD?

I am almost 8 weeks and I just can't sleep and I dont want to be taking sleeping pills cause of my pregnancy... now I feel Like I failed my unborn child cause I don't want to be on any meds for the health of the baby....I feel so bad :(

he knew I was pregnant when he perscribed it.
I am just having a hard time getting off of
depression meds.

talk to your doctor about the problem there are things that you can safely take to sleep better during pregnancy

how bout just waking up with the migrane and taking pain meds instead it's safer (talk to your OB about what to take first)

My doctor actually was going to prescribe me sleep meds- I think it was ambien... not a big deal!! She also says to take benedryl to sleep... works great.

You need to tell your OB. There may be something else she can give you from here on out. Also, she should be aware so she can look for complications caused by the Ambien.

i am currently almost 38 weeks and was also prescribed ambien to sleep... my ob-gyn gave it to me and said i was safe for the baby... i feel the same way about not taking meds but i didn't sleep for it felt like a month.... if i did sleep it was a few hours at the most and i was up.... so don't worry as long as you don't take it all the time i think it is ok. u need Ur rest too.

if he gave it to you then you should be fine. they gave me ambien was i was induced at the hospital. it didn't work for me just made me groggy.

Finding a comfortable resting position can become difficult later in pregnancy.

Recommendations:
1. Don't take sleep medication.
2. Try drinking warm milk at bedtime.
3. Try taking a warm shower or bath before bedtime.
4. Use extra pillows for support while sleeping. Lying on your side, place a pillow under your head, abdomen, behind your back and between your knees to prevent muscle strain and help you get the rest you need. You will probably feel better lying on your left side; this improves circulation of blood throughout your body.

It's okay, (((HUGS)))
Just make sure you are able to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep. Hope your sleep patterns get better, huge congrats on your pregnancy!

Did your O/B tell you that ambien was ok to take? That would make me nervous. Talk to your doctor and get his advise you need sleep but that sleep aid seems a little strong for a pregnant woman. I may be wrong but I definitely would find out before I take it again.

If you really felt this bad you would not have taken it.
You are here looking for someone to say - it is okl I did it and my baby is fine.
If your doctor says do not take it - deal with the migrane.
You are saying you would rather risk harm to the baby than deal with a migrane for yourself.
Clearly setting up for fabulous parenting skills.
