My girlfriend has a really bad migraine right now, what can I do?

she doesn't want me to leave the house, I have her in our bedroom, all the lights are off, there is no noise and I have the a/c on to keep it cooler in here, what else can I do to help?

A cool washcloth on her forehead can help. Or even an ice pack on the her forehead for no more than 20 minutes at a time.

Also a pain reliever like Excedrin or Aleve. If she can handle it, something with caffeine in it like soda, chocolate, tea or coffee can help constrict the blood vessels that are causing the migraine.

I also usually have a neck pillow or rolled up towel under my neck to support it as well.

If she gets shaky, weak, sweaty with the chills; she may have to go to the ER and get a shot for it.

In my experience, sex during a migraine headache always makes my head feel like it will blow up. However some have had different experiences.

Good luck and I hope she feels better soon!

Michelle

Very easy, pl see what suits her.
If you are in cold country use all warm things.
Pl try cold water bath and observe if in hot country, if pain increases use warm.
If you have cough/cold body hot water bath will help.
Massage and exercise in front of morning sun is good thing, pl try.
Pl try simple acupressure given below for immediate relief.
If it fails you will have to go for Acupuncture.

There is hardly any medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache, Ear ache/ringing, Stomach ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.

Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES, Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes.
None of them can be treated with medicine.
Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.

Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.

Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, tension, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods, SMOKING and alcohole.

Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits like dates, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help if cough is not there.

But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong.

If it is acute pl search a painful point (with round tipped pen/jimmy) 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

For forehead/eye pain the points are in front of nails on the finger tips or 3-7 mm below.

It may disappear naturally too.

-If she is not pregnant, there is a pressure point called the L14 used in accupressure. The L14 is the web of meaty flesh found between the thumb and forefinger. Feel for the tender areas w/n the web and press and rub against them using a rhythmic pumping action. The right amount of pressure will not be painful, but will produce a slight twinge that isn't soothing either. Perform this on both hands for about 1 minute at a time. Keeping her hands warm will also help.
-Try rubbing peppermint oil on her temples. You can get it for $5 at any health food store. Lavender works, too. you may want to use a carrier oil if the fragrance is too strong.
-Try an ibuprofen and a vitamin B6 (small dose, too much could make it worse).
-If its a stress headache, try ginger tea or a couple tablespoons of aloe juice (also available in health stores)
- no caffeine dairy or chocolate (sorry :-( )

-also consider the fact that irregularity can cause headaches. Make sure this is not the case. If it is, glycerin suppositories and enimas tend to work the quickest. You can get both at wal-mart.

OK i get migraines alot, heres what i do while waiting for the tylenol to kick in. push on each of your temples just enough to put pressure there after about a minute or so she should notice that the pain has eased, unfortunately if she stops putting pressure there the pain comes back rather quickly.

try to get her some aleves.they help me when i have a migraine.let her rest, sometimes you can sleep a migraine off,if she cant get rid of it by tomorow i would tske her to the er.they can give her a shot, hope she feels better soon, tsake care

If you have any Excedrin in the house, give it to her. If not, then any pain reliever will help a little bit. Also, try and give her caffeine. Caffeine is a common ingredient in both OTC and prescription medications for migraines.

My sister gets these alot......have her drink lots of water...put your fingers 2 inches apart and start at the base of her neck and rub up towards her scalp, that feels the best for those. and you are a very caring boyfriend!!

or yes the crazy sex that does cure basically everything!

That is about all you can do. It's nice that you are considerate of her pain.

Also, be a sweetie and bunk out on the couch...just for the night, until the migraine subsides.

sit in a dark quiet room and try to get some sleep...but don take pills...b/c it may make her puke them up.. hope she gets better soon.

Leave her alone

HIDE !!!

massage her scalp, give her tea if you dont like medicine.

or have crazy sex. haha

take aspriane and go to bed

believe it or not sex helps relive head aces

hot bath.. rub her back... cool her hydrated or leave her alone .. sex wont help

cold towl, dark room, and cool air

give her a asprin and some milk
