HELP! have a evil migraine but I'm also throwing up water...what to do? |
i've been like this for about 3 days now and i don't know what else i can do to make the pain go away. i've been lying in my room in the dark and drinking quite a lot of water...small sips, but i still keep throwing up water. i can't eat because even the simplest of foods is being rejected e.g.tomato soup, dry toast etc...i don't really wanna to go to the doctors or the hospital because they're miles away and i dunno if i can walk 3 miles without passing out as everytime i stand up i feel dizzy and everything goes dark for about a minute and i start shaking so i have to sit down...is this just a bug or something else? i dunno if age comes into it but i'm almost 16 too if that helps... should i still try to eat and drink even though i can keep it down? well drink anyways...i havent eaten since yesterday because i don't want to throw up again but i'm still drinking water. my parents have gone out and left me..again so i can't ask them what to do, how long till i stop feeling like this? First thing, stay calm. I know the blackouts and dizziness and shaking can be really scary, but just keep thinking it will be over soon and don't panic. You need to go to hospital if this has been going on so long. Since you say you cant eat or drink anything, after 3 days you're likely to be dehydrated which will a) make the headache worse and b) cause further complications and can make you very sick. A 3 day migrane is very unusual, im concerned it's something else such as viral meningitis. I do think you can get an injection in the doctors for the pain but what I would do is sleep, sleep & Sleep. There are also some strong codeine based painkillers out there that can soften the pain while you try to sleep. If it's not gone by tomorrow I would be seeking medical advice if I was you. Don't worry about eating, just sleep! Can you ask a friend or family member for some help? Hi, I think the best thing for you to do is to try to relax and to take a nap. That's the only thing that helps me when I can't keep a migraine pill down. Perhaps some meditation or learned breathing exercises could help you in the future. I dont think it would hurt for you to go to your doctor just to check out whats wrong with you, sounds like you might have a nasty flu or something. (I had similar symptoms to you once and my doctor said it was a flu). If you dont think you can make it to the doctors maybe you could ask a friend, neighbour or someone to take you down there since your parents are away. I hope you feel better soon but you definitely need to see someone about it. |
